"The Showcase Supercharge"

 

The Showcase Supercharge is a 7 day protocol that will allow for rapid improvements in velocity performance.  This protocol can be used to peak for throwing, swinging, sprinting, or any other high velocity activity.  It's designed to be used 1-2 times per month at most.  The following supplements are recommended (but not mandatory) to complete the protocol as designed.  The VeloCharger and NeuX are optional, as athletes may or may not have access to these tools.  The protocol is extremely powerful with or without their use.

DAY 1

 

LIFESTYLE

-Minimum 8 hours of sleep

-Screentime less than one hour

 

TRAINING

-Do your typical warmup followed by the skill you are testing for 20 reps at 80% intensity.

-Perform 15 x 30 yd dash sprints.

-Go for a 60 minute hike in nature.

-If you'd like to strength train or lift on this day, go for it.  (Optional)

 

NUTRITION

-Consume normal amount of calories

-Minimum 6 pasture raised organic eggs

-Minimum half gallon of organic whole milk

-8 oz orange juice at breakfast

-8 oz organic tart cherry juice at breakfast

-10g Thorne Creatine in the morning

-2 scoops of Thorne Catalyte in the morning

 

MORNING SUPERCHARGE

In the morning upon rising, go outside and stand at attention for 10 minutes barefoot with shirt off looking in general direction of the sun (do not look directly at the sun).  If you have a VeloCharger red light, go inside after sun exposure and complete 10 minutes of red light exposure to front side of body (covering knees to neck).

 

EVENING SUPERCHARGE

In the evening, take a contrast shower (60 seconds comfortably hot water, followed by as cold as possible for 10 seconds.  Cycle thru 3 times and end on cold.  Very important to cover entire body including the head and face with the cold water.)

 
 
  
 

DAY 2

 

LIFESTYLE

-Minimum 8 hours of sleep

-Screentime less than one hour

 

 TRAINING

-Perform 1 maximal vertical jump, followed by standing and taking one deep breath.  Perform 2 maximal jumps, followed by standing and taking two deep breaths.  Then 3 of each, 4 of each, 5 of each, all the way until you do 10 jumps and 10 breaths.  

-Perform 1 of each upper body rebound, followed by standing and taking one deep breath.  Perform 2 of each rebound, followed by standing and taking two deep breaths.  Then 3 of each, 4 of each, 5 of each, all the way until you do 10 of each rebound and 10 breaths.  

-Perform the same motion you will be testing for 5 minutes extremely slowly.  This could be a pitch, swing, or sprint. 

-Go for a 60 minute hike in nature.

-If you'd like to strength train or lift on this day, go for it.  (Optional)

 

NUTRITION

-Consume normal amount of calories +500 extra

-64 oz of reverse osmosis water or spring water

 
 
  

DAY 3

 

LIFESTYLE

-Minimum 8 hours of sleep

-Screentime less than one hour

  

TRAINING 

-Do your typical warmup followed by the skill you are testing for 15 reps at 85% intensity.

-Perform 10 x 30 yd dash sprints.

-Go for a 30 minute hike in nature.

-If you'd like to strength train or lift on this day, go for it.  (Optional)

 

NUTRITION

-Consume normal amount of calories +500 extra

-Minimum 6 organic eggs

-Minimum half gallon of organic whole milk

-8 oz orange juice at breakfast

-8 oz organic tart cherry juice at breakfast

-15g Thorne Creatine in the morning

-2 scoops of Thorne Catalyte in the morning

-16 ounce steak or 12 raw oysters

(If you choose to do oysters, raw is preferred but grilled or canned are acceptable.  Some people have shellfish allergies and intolerance, so if you have never had shellfish you should just eat 4-6 to see how you respond.  I'd recommend testing this before you use this protocol going into a showcase.  A small amount of people do get sick and vomit.)

PEAK DAY

 

 -Consume 100-200 mg caffeine/5 g Thorne Creatine/2 scoops Thorne Catalyte, 20 minutes before testing.  Caffeine can be from whatever source you prefer (I like Red Bull).
